Your year in review!

Merry Christmas! And Happy New Year! if you celebrate such things. This time of year can be great, terrible, stressful and rejuventating. I hope this month has been treating you kindly.

This year I really leaned into The Solstice and Yule. Our family has been releasing manifestations to the universe each night and it feels so magical. I didn't do any decorating this year and that too feels so magical (because I hate putting stuff away tbh).

Oh lawd. Another year end review. Is anyone else tired of them? I don't care how many gallons of gas I pumped, or hours of music and audiobooks I listened too, or cups of coffee I bought. There's something to be said about information overload, and I think I've reached that point. I enjoy a good Spotify wrapped as much as the next person but sometimes, too much is too much. I also think annual data is... a bit cumbersome. Especially when we talk about averages. I didn't read much on my kindle during the summer, but listened to audiobooks. That changes the data. I spent more of the winter months cycling on my Peloton, and more of the summer months walking, that changes the validity of my step data. I think it's all good information, we just need to be discerning and judicious in how we use it.

For me, it's all data but what do we do with it? I for one, know how to ruminate on data.

And while analysis is helpful, there are some things that don't need statistical analysis.

We know our bodies, and our minds, and who we are. While it's so helpful to have data to support decisions, it's also critical that we learn to rely on our own intuition.

You know what aligns with you, energetically, spriritually, and physically. You know deep inside what's working and what's not.

I stopped teaching yoga at one of the locations I was teaching at because it didn't support me. Financially, I was barely breaking even, Mentally, it was taxing and I would finish the day energetically drained. Sure, looking at the math reinforced the decision I was leaning towards, but I didn't need the data. I knew deep down (and honestly at the surface level), what the correct answer was.

Don't worry! I'm not teaching virtually which is more flexible for myself and for you! If there's times you would like to see added feel free to reach out! I want this to be a great time for everyone and I know times squeezed betweeen other activities can feel like a burden.

New Year's Resolutions Oof. Are we still doing those? In the dead of winter we're trying to leap into new routines? Not only is that out of alignment with nature, it's generally a bit odd behavior. Feel free to try new things but with no pressure. The Practice you Keep, my 12 week program is a great one to start, as we spend the first phase establishing what's already working, building inner alignment and restorative rhythms pillars before we start adding in all new practices with the supportive nutrition and sustainable movement pillars.

I'm working toward my NBHWC certification and to qualify to sit the board exams I need... well... a lot of coaching sessions. If you're ready to take the next step in your health and wellness journey, learn how to build a practice you keep and be your own best friend, click the coaching tab on this website and we can get started.

My biggest change going into 2026, is diving back into my 300 hour YTT. Note to self: Self-paced classes are not for the faint of heart (or short of time).

Though, as I listen to the unbalanced load in the basement clanging around, maybe I should resolve to learn how to better balance the washing machine. It sounds like an angry carpenter is trying to break in.

If you have a five year plan, feel free to do a quarterly review, but I wouldn't overhaul it. That's a great Spring Equinox activity, when the days and nights are more equal and the planet is coming alive (unless you're Australian. Then you're on your own. Live in alignment with your calendar. I'm consciously trying to close out projects, before I add more. I'm also working on savoring accomplishments when they happen. Celebrating the steps I've taken. Seeing if I really need to do more, be more, or add more. I have so much going on right now, and I could stand to start reducing some of the mental strain. Learning to be content is a skill in it's own right and one I could stand to grow.

I hope 2026 is good to you. I am so grateful to everyone who has subscribed to my content, who downloads my videos, shows up to my classes and generally makes this happen. Without you, it's just me. Shouting into the void. Love and light.
